I had this little metal table with a wooden top sitting on my deck for several years and it was rusty and the top was just ruined. It was definitely in need of a face lift or to the junk it would go.
Super easy is what this project is. I just cleaned off the table. Scraped off whatever rust I could and scraped the top smooth. Got some pretty blue spray paint I like and sprayed a coat on all the metal parts. Let that dry for a day or so.
I found a piece of scrapbook paper that I liked and cut it to fit the top. I used a paintbrush to coat the top with clear glue and laid the paper on top. Once it was positioned correctly, I smoothed it down with a spatula or something getting all the bubbles out. I let that dry and then brushed the top again with the clear glue. I dried that with a hair dryer. After everything was completely dry, I sprayed polyurethane over the entire thing and let dry again for a day.
That's it! Easy peasy! This is such an easy process that can be used on tons of things. This project cost me less than $2.00 because I used things I already had on hand. I'd love to see some of the things you've done on the cheap.
