Eli's birth was fairly routine, nothing traumatic. We got it on video of course. When his feet presented I only had to make sure they were front feet - not back feet - pretty normal stuff. He was a gorgeous, 5 lb. 7 oz. kid with floppy ears and blue eyes. We were all in love!
The next morning I went in to check on them and Eli was up and running around, attacking his Momma with a vengeance. We were so grateful and relieved! He had a little diarrhea off and on but it cleared up quickly and he improved so fast it was like a miracle to us. Just to be safe, we gave him a dose of Pro Bios to re-establish the good bacteria in his belly. After a day or two, Eli finally discovered his hop. We got that on video, of course. Check it out here!
I'm not sure if anything we did helped or if nature just took its course. Any of you goat people out there - please comment with your opinion. I would like to know for the future. I am just so glad that we have this little miracle as part of our family.
